We dismissed the idea of using a case to save money and simplify the mounting process.  We used some plastic mounting feet that were purchased from Happ to mount the motherboard on the inside of the cabinet wall.

We took some Pulse 424 computer speakers, ripped apart the satellites, and mounted them above the screen in the speaker panel.  We used some small 4" grills that were purchased from JC Whitney.  The sub was mounted at the base of the machine underneath the front shelf.  The control board (volume and power) from the satellites was mounted to the underside of the shelf so it could be accessed from just inside the coin door.

The computer runs DOS and DOS only on a 10gig 7200rpm hard drive.

We decided to use the AdvanceMenu front end because it provided a nice game list and screenshot interface.  In order to speed up the process of loading screenshots when browsing games, we created a ram disk of 50megs and copied all the image files onto it.  This way screenshot loading is instantaneous.  It makes the machine significantly nicer and easier to use.  The ram disk program we used was furd19_i.zip (it requires himem.sys to be loaded in your config.sys).
