Wii modchips

Wii D2Ckey installOut of the blue I decided to check out the Wii modding scene to see how far it had advanced since the console’s inception. From the initial release of a console, there is talk of when modchips will breakthrough and hit the market. Sometimes it takes years, other times its mere months. Wii chips matured rather quickly and they only sell for around 30 bucks, so I decided I’d give it a try. The picture at the right is what a completed install looks like.

Keep in mind its magnified about 250%.

28 individual 30 gauge (.01 inches) wires. No thanks.

Hopefully something a little simpler and easier will be out in the next few months.

You have got to be kidding me

I read this post on Slashdot today about Youtube having an abundance of videos that display harmful/incorrect scientific information.  This itself does not surprise me.  There’s all kinds of strange/stupid things on Youtube.  What bothers me is this quote from the article, “According to the lead researcher, ‘YouTube is increasingly a resource people consult for health information…’

Read it again.  I know I had to.

I hope they didn’t pay this guy for his research.  Unless I missed a serious Internet revolution, who the hell uses Youtube for any kind of health information?  If anyone uses Youtube to look up medical questions, they deserve to be misinformed.
