This crib is a tank

The furniture for the baby’s room arrived today. By arrived I mean that I went and picked it up from the warehouse. We got a crib and dresser/changing station. I also built a small bookshelf to hold a few sets of encyclopedias for when the baby would like a bedtime story.
The crib is massive. I didn’t realize how heavy it was until Abbey and I tried to lift the box off the truck when we got home. We decided to just bring it in piece by piece rather than trying to find some lifting help. Assembly was fairly simple and straight-forward. Now we just need to decide where everything is going to be placed. As usual, click on the pictures for larger versions |

I had my first interview in 4 years about a week and a half ago. I interviewed for a management position in a distribution center. After applying for countless engineering jobs and not even being called to interview, I decided to pursue a job in something I actually have experience in. I knew a couple of people who already worked for this company (coincidently, both were former Pizza Hut managers) and they couldn’t stop telling me how great their job was. The pay would’ve been better, the hours would’ve been better, the benefits would’ve been better, and best of all, no customers to deal with. Alas (always wanted to use that word), I screwed up somewhere in the midst of three interviews and a company visit and did not “meet their qualifications for any open positions,” so its back to the grind of the hut (and the never-ending career search).
