Field Trip
Abbey and I took a full day and drove up to Detroit to visit the Ikea store. We stopped off in Perrysburg and picked up my parent’s van just in case we bought too much stuff for the car. A tire on the van blew out on I275 about halfway to our destination, so in addition to going to Ikea, I also visited a tire shop. Everything worked out well and we still had plenty of shopping time.
The store was enormous and packed with people. We explored the second floor and picked out some furniture possibilities, then had lunch at the cafeteria. Over lunch, we decided on a TV/
Entertainment stand, bookshelf, dresser, and nightstands. After lunch we toured the first floor and picked up some lamps. The drive home wasn’t nearly as exciting, but we managed to fit everything in the car when we stopped over in Perrysburg to drop off the van.
All the furniture comes disassembled, so we spent a good 5 or 6 hours assembling everything when we got home.
The Detroit IKEA is for suckers. Everyone knows that the Pittsburgh IKEA is where it’s at.
